About
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2013 and obtained my license in clinical social work in 2016.
Initially, I was inspired to become a therapist because I wanted to work with people experiencing addiction and substance abuse, but I’ve spent my career working with a wide variety of people experiencing different mental health challenges. I’ve spent a lot of time working with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and adjustment, and I’m very passionate about working with LGBTQ+ adults struggling with issues related to their identity and sexuality, because that topic is near and dear to my heart. I belong to the community and want to be there to provide support to this often marginalized population. I also am familiar and comfortable with working with those in traditional and non-traditional relationship types - monogamy, non-monogamy (ENM, Polyamory, Swinging), BDSM/Kink, blended families, etc.
I believe that therapy is what you make of it. It is not a quick fix, but rather a journey that’s guided by someone who is a neutral party, that you can trust and collaborate with to help reach your goals. It takes work, but even the chance to make someone’s day a little better is worth it all to me. We take for granted how important it is to feel seen, heard, and cared for. There are so many people out there struggling to be heard, and being that helpful listener is such a wonderful feeling!
With my clients, I promise to always be genuine and honest. Sometimes that means saying something you might not want to hear or agree with, but my authentic observations and concerns serve the primary goal of furthering the therapeutic process.
Please note: My current availability does not include weekends.
