Hello, thank you for visiting my page. My name is Susan Hea Jin Ko, and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I received my B.S. Psychology from Syracuse University and M.S. MFT from University of Southern California (USC). I specialize in working with Anxiety, Depression, and Life Stressors. I am a bilingual therapist (able to provide therapy in Korean and English). My approach I always inform my clients that therapy isn’t about the therapist leading and telling them what to do. It’s more of the therapist and client walking and working together as a team. I am willing to build transparent and accountable therapeutic relationships with my clients and provide the warm care they deserve. I utilize different ranges of approaches for clients to feel supported and receive what they need. I am a firm believer that not just one approach is going to fit everyone's treatment. Everyone comes to therapy and seeks out support for different reasons and at different life stages. I respect everyone’s background and the support they are seeking. Some of the approaches that I use are evidence-based and strength-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment, Psychodynamic, Positive Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Trauma Informed. My focus I specialize in working with Anxiety Disorders (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, various phobia-related disorders, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (ODC) ), Depression Disorders (Major Depression, Persistent Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Seasonal Affective Disorder, Peripartum (Postpartum) Depression, and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, and various life stressors.
