I believe the client-therapist relationship is a journey because we will travel together to meet your goals or counseling-related tasks through collaboration and consensus. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Masters of Education in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University. I later received additional coursework in the area of school counseling from North Carolina State University. I am currently pursuing a doctorate of education at Gardner-Webb University in Organizational Leadership.
I have over fifteen years of of experience working adolescents, teenagers, adults (young and middle-aged) and families in school, college and faith- based settings. I offer counseling services in the areas of marriage/couples/relationships, premarital counseling, self-esteem building, depression, stress and anxiety management, women’s issues, life and career transitions and resilience. I utilize an eclectic approach to counseling theoretical orientation grounded through use of the cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered techniques, solution-focused brief therapy, reality therapy and rational emotive therapy.
