Professor Gretchen Lewis is an LCPC, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Supervisor. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC)/Counseling Psychology at Adler University, in Chicago, IL. She is a doctoral student in DCES Counselor Education and Supervision at Adler University. Gretchen specializes in treating individual clients and works with clients in group, couples and family settings. Gretchen sees adults, young adults and children. She works with clients on sports performance, PTSD and other trauma and stressor-related disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, issues with anger, chronic pain, relationship stressors, student/occupational/career stressors, problems with self-esteem and self-confidence, and difficulties adjusting to change. Gretchen utilizes evidenced-based treatments such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with various mindfulness-based approaches which aim to reduce symptoms of distress and enhance quality of life. Prior to becoming the founder of Namaste Wellness Center Gretchen worked in multiple settings including the hospital, school and private practice settings. She is also a graduate school professor who has worked at Adler University and Northwestern University. Above all, Gretchen strives to work in collaboration with her clients to address the whole person including the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions.
