I have been in behavioral health for over 25 years in Ohio where I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Supervisory Designation (LPCC-S) and earned my Ph.D. in Counselor Education in 2004. My career has found me working in a variety of settings (inpatient, outpatient, residential, college clinic) with the full age spectrum (children through geriatrics), although I tend to work primarily with adults. Over the years I have grown to specialize in co-occurring disorders and recently became fully trained in EMDR therapy. Currently I am in private practice as well as serving as an adjunct faculty member at Kent State University, teaching practicum courses to both Masters and Doctoral level graduate students.

Therapy is about promoting change and creating a relationship that helps the individual grow to their best potential. This relationship is built upon 3 core elements: Respect, Honesty and Trust. Without these 3 elements, there is no relationship. In addition to EMDR therapy, I am grounded in Motivational Interviewing and gravitate towards Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while bringing in other forms of therapy as needed.
