He specializes in adult psychotherapy. He has extensive experience working with people with chronic neurological conditions, including Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS and Parkinsonism as well as Conversion Disorder. Mr. Shearer uses a holistic approach and develops each clients treatment based on the clients needs and goals rather than using a strict ideological approach. Mr. Shearer understands that developing the therapeutic relationship is paramount in psychotherapy and he develops this in a non-judgmental and trusting environment. Mr. Shearer received his Master of Social Work from Adelphi University. He also completed his CASAC-T training in order to better help those who struggle with addiction and substance abuse issues. He has extensive experience using supportive and dynamic therapy as well as evidence based treatments such as CBT and REBT.
