Hello and Welcome!
My name is Gina and I am a clinical mental health counselor (LPCC) in the state of New Mexico. I have a Master of Arts degree in Art Therapy and Counseling, from Southwestern College in Santa Fe NM. My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Fine Art from the University of MN. I have worked in community mental health for the last 8 years in the state of NM, working with diverse populations, ages, serving a wide range of clinical needs.

My approach is humanistic and integrative in nature, fully believing that we all have what we need inside ourselves to heal, and that our own life experiences are our greatest teacher. I am here to meet you where you are on your journey, and support and guide you in living the life you envision. Art has been a transformational medium in my own life, and at an early age I experienced the healing powers of art as therapy. I may combine art as therapy when I see fit.

I also use evidenced-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to bring awareness to where we can get stuck in negative beliefs/thoughts/patterns that no longer serve us.

I carry a 200-hour yoga teacher certification and also trainings in trauma informed yoga. As art was one modality for healing in my own life, I can say the same about yoga. If applicable, I may draw on mindfulness/body awareness/breathing tools from this ancient practice as well.

I take a holistic approach when working with clients, knowing that there are multiple factors that can impact a person’s mental wellbeing including but not limited to: relationships, career, family, expectations, social/environmental, nutrition, movement, and sleep to name a few. How we fuel our body impacts how we feel and think, which is why another passion of mine is in the field of how nutrition can impact our mental health. I currently hold a certificate in Mental Health and Integrative Medicine (CMHIMP).

I am truly honored to walk along another person’s path and listen to their story; what they have overcome to be where they are, and hold a light on their continued journey. It is a gift to engage in a therapeutic relationship with another human who shows up with vulnerability and courage to ask for support in their life. I look forward to meeting you and walking beside you on your journey.

My schedule varies, so although you don't see days/times on my schedule, once we begin our conversation and you would like to work with me, we will find a time that fits both of our schedules. At this time, I am not seeing clients on the weekends.
