About

Hello, I am Georgia Bryce. I transitioned to the world of therapy after having worked in the field of environmental science and engineering for 16 years. I have been working for approximately 5 years as a clinical therapist in the state of Florida; specializing in identifying poor (dysfunctional) patterns of interaction and communication in families that often give rise to interpersonal relationship (family) conflict and other internalized issues. I provide both individual therapy (non-religious ) and Christian counseling (to those individuals for whom involvement of their faith and the scriptures in the therapeutic process are of paramount importance) to help clients work through issues including depression, anxiety, anger, stress, trauma, grief and loss, low self esteem, and fears involving career concerns and the future.

One of my flagship services involves offering therapeutic support to individuals recovering from substance and alcohol abuse (must have completed detox and/or a treatment program). This includes, but is not limited to recovery planning and emotional sobriety; boundary setting; building a support network; crisis and relapse prevention planning; addressing underlying issues fueling substance use such as mental health diagnoses, guilt and shame; life skills development; and, employment and family reintegration (working through the impact of the addiction on their family and addressing those stressors within the family that could precipitate relapse). Being certified as a personal and professional development coach is an added bonus, as this allows me to assist individuals needing help with clarifying their life's purpose and vision, as well as defining their career pathway.

I believe clients are the experts of their own lives, despite their current state of affair, and my responsibility is to create a safe, non-judgmental environment that fosters clients' capabilities and their sense of self. I am collaborative and solution-focused in my approach and my strategy involves asking pivotal questions early in the process to gain a good grasp of client' concerns and to get clients thinking. I utilize homework throughout therapy duration to reinforce clients' gains. I encourage clients to be as open as possible as this allows me the opportunity to provide them with the best level of service.
