About
Gena earned her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in 2015. She works from a relational psychology model which is founded on the belief that we are transformed through relationships and in particular through the therapeutic relationship. Gena works with clients of all ages, integrating various modalities, including psychodynamic, relational, and attachment-based theories. She views the counseling process as a partnership in the exploration of underlying motivations and patterns of behavior, promoting greater self-awareness and improved sense of self at any age. Gena works with adult clients struggling with anxiety, depression, and traumatic experiences. In her work with children, adolescents, and their families, she addresses challenges such as anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, and family conflict. She also offers parent coaching as a part of her work with children, and her counseling process is deeply informed by her experience as a mother of two grown children herself.
