About

I am a results-oriented Doctor of Psychology and mentor to counselors in an 8-clinic mental health group in Wisconsin. I have a mild level of Asperger's and have battled anxiety. My clinic practice is focused heavily upon those with mood disorders and those on the spectrum. I am very solutions-focused. I will not waste your time. My doctoral research was also on cancer depression and how clinicians can help patients. I am a two-year survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. In learning how to battle the disease, I was told by the medical team that 23 different illnesses may result primarily from stress. From cancer to heart disease, from Lupus to other immune system disorders, stress is the bane of humanity. Stress and the resulting anxiety lead to depression. Genetic factors also play a role and it is important to review family history to determine how genetics are involved.

I have counseled, successfully, under the following scenarios:

A young woman who was sexually assaulted by a relative. Standing up for her and helping her build her sense of value allowed her to live a much better life.
A child in foster care, later adopted by two women, struggled with race identity and his bio mother's degrading comments. Things are vastly improved.
A woman with Bipolar 1, suffering from guilt associated with erratic behavior during mania, now properly medicated by a psychiatrist and taught to believe in herself.
A young man with Asperger's Syndrome, pliable and victimized by a woman with a personality disorder, freed from that situation and growing in life.
A middle-aged man with Asperger's who needed to understand his mind, now going back to school to become an online teacher in ministry.

I am a strong advocate. I believe in education and teaching clients how to grow and help themselves. I don't waste time and get to the heart of the matter quickly. That doesn't mean I'm dispassionate. I have a Meyers-Brigg's INFP personality. However, every day I see you suffering is a day I see as a day I need to work harder to help. Let's get started.
