Dr. Hamburger has been providing therapy and comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessment for over 10 years. He earned both his Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. He trained at some of the most renowned mental health treatment facilities including the University of Chicago, Cheyenne Veterans Administration Medical Center, Weiss Memorial Hospital, Keys to Recovery, and DuPage County Health Department. After working in private practice for several Chicago area clinics, he recently moved back to the Detroit area to return to his roots and be closer with family and friends. With Find A Therapist it is his hope to reach even more clients in need of support.

Through his diverse training and work experiences, Dr. Hamburger obtained the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully treat a vast array of mental health issues across the lifespan. Specializations include child and adolescent psychology as well as neuropsychology. He has a great deal of experience in the assessment and treatment of ADHD, anxiety, depression, developmental issues, addiction, medical comorbidity, PTSD, and neurocognitive disorders such as TBI and dementia.

In therapy, Dr. Hamburger utilizes a solution focused and integrative approach rooted in client centered theory. He maintains the flexibility to incorporate other empirically based techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. This allows Dr. Hamburger to be adaptable and truly meet a client where they are at and create the best possible therapeutic outcomes.
