Hi! My name is Rick Westby. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Maricopa, Arizona. My wife and I own and operate a seven year old private counseling practice in Maricopa serving all manner of folks, from youth to elderly, male and female, court or self referred. I work with relationship difficulties, parenting, blended families, addiction, anxiety, depression, and that general sense of "I don't know what's going on with me."
I believe nobody is broken and tend to focus far more on solutions than problems. I'm told I have a pleasant, laid back demeanor. I find its helpful to look at our troubles with hope and humor and, focused on solution, brainstorm your values and goals and craft a plan together that leads to where you want to go. Life seems somewhat challenging at times; if we remember occasional life difficulty is part of the journey, we can be at peace and find contentment even when things aren't going our way.
I have master's degrees in Professional Counseling and Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University, as well as a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. I came to this profession later in life after a lot of years in sales and hospitality, and some time far less focused on career than on parenting. I have personal experience and perspective on many of the curve balls life tosses our way, including marriage and divorce, addiction, blended families, adoption, and career change.
