Hello! My name is Fernando, and I am a bilingual CA LMFT male of 49 years. I have been practicing for 16 years as a Psychotherapist in both the Public and Private sectors in North and South America. I've been married for 13 years, and a father for 12. I was born in Uruguay, South America and have lived in Canada, the United States and in Uruguay. In California I graduated from UCLA and Pepperdine where I obtained my degrees. Drawing from different cultures allowed me to inform how I decided to develop my identity. This experience facilitates understanding my clients' world and points of view. In therapy I also employ CBT, person-centered, and motivational interviewing skill sets when assisting clients in: identifying where they would like to concentrate their efforts, develop insight, create meaning, and foster inspiration to grow and adapt to these quickly changing times and culture. I found these skills to be particularly useful when counseling teens as they develop and carve their place in the world.
