I have been a counselor/therapist for over 30 years working with clients who have substance abuse/addiction issues and trauma. I have a Masters Degree in counseling and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I am also a Certified EMDR therapist and Approved EMDR Consultant. I approach therapy with the attitude that my clients have come to me in order to improve their lives. I am open to their ideas and alter my style to fit their needs. I believe that establishing a healthy clinical rapport and relationship is very important in the collaborative work we will explore. I have assisted many clients in processing trauma, especially childhood trauma, that have led them to stop dysfunctional behavior patterns. Often times, those with addictions have not addressed and resolved their trauma. Processing and resolving those traumatic events often leads to recovery from addiction. This is the way I believe I am of most help to my clients.
