My name is Felix E. Alexander. I received a Masters’ Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2012. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in North Carolina (10380) and South Carolina (6285). I am also a License Clinical Addiction Specialist (20052). I am also pursing in a Doctoral Degree in Community Care & Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling. I have over 20 years of counseling experience (eight years as a licensed counselor). I conduct individual, marriage, family, group, adolescent, and substance abuse counseling. Because counseling is an interactive process, your commitment, cooperation, and open communications will greatly enhance our counseling relationship. This will be extremely beneficial in helping to address/change your thoughts, feeling, and actions or behaviors. Since there are no instant or immediate permanent resolutions to life's challenges, I am asking that you be patient as we work towards an acceptable solution. To facilitate this process, you will be given homework assignments and encouraged to participate in various exercises and projects, as required.
I will use a variety of integrative approaches and techniques to include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focus Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to address various challenges and concerns. I am also trained in assessing and treating adolescent who sexually harm and victims of human trafficking. The specific approach or technique will be dependent upon you and the circumstances and/or situation being addressed. However, my primary approach or focus is Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help me gain insight, understanding, and a clear perspective of your habitual thoughts and behaviors. I will always remain open and optimistic and exercise flexibility with the focus of doing no harm to you, the client. Additionally, I will always respect your beliefs and values and be sensitive to your worldview.
