About
Life is simultaneously amazingly beautiful and painfully terrifying. How we cope with these terrifying and difficult moments can impact how we see and enjoy the beautiful moments life has to offer. When we are faced with these difficult moments, sometimes, we turn to unhealthy ways of coping, further blocking our ability to grow. I want to help you take back the control that these challenges have taken away from you, so you can lead a more satisfying life. You have the power within to overcome these difficulties and my goal is to help you tap into your inner strength and resources. I want to help you become the CEO of your life again.
Consider therapy as the process of learning to be with yourself in a new, more authentic way. Bringing awareness to your here-and-now experience in this way is known to promote stress relief, emotional stability, and increase capacity for connection with others.
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. Perhaps you struggle with unwanted behavior patterns or difficulties in your relationships. Maybe you’re challenged by overwhelming emotions or struggle to know what you’re feeling at all. Or maybe you’re having trouble adjusting to new circumstances or making a big decision. These problems in living and many others may respond well to psychotherapy.
I specialize in working with:
Anxiety
Depression
Life Transitions
Relationship/Intimacy Issues
Suicidality
Supportive Parenting
Trauma
Studies confirm what I know to be true: the best predictor of therapeutic success is a secure, attuned therapeutic relationship. This means I meet you with compassion and listen without judgment, assumptions, or expectations. I respect your pace and honor the need to feel safe when sharing your story. My approach remains consistent in my work with adult individuals, couples, and therapy groups.
At the foundation of my work is the belief that every human being has an innate ability to thrive. I offer acceptance, empathy, and my own authenticity to enable you towards growth and fulfillment. I believe the capacity to build the life you want is already within you. My role as therapist is to help you clear the way.
I hold a Master’s degree in clinical psychology from University of Texas Rio Grande and completed my pre-graduate training at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. In addition to private practice, I currently provide mental health services at an inpatient psychiatric hospital. I deal with suicidality, addictions, and a wide range of other disorders at the inpatient setting. I also work school based counseling and provide services to school age children.
