About
Hello! It is a pleasure to meet you and be able to introduce myself. My name is Farrah Pece (she/her/hers). I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) in the state of Illinois. I have also obtained my Certification as a Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A) in psychology from Aurora University and went on to earn my Master of Science Degree (M.S) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National-Louis University. I use a strength-based approach and believe every individual has a set of unique strengths and abilities that can help them through life’s difficulties. I believe strengths are just as important to discuss in therapy as are the difficulties that brought you to therapy in the first place. I have a great appreciation for other people and my treatment is viewed through a multicultural perspective which allows me to have awareness and sensitivity to my clients’ diverse backgrounds and experiences. I use the following evidence-based approaches to therapy: Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Trauma-focused Cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
