About
Hi there. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! Let me tell you a little bit about my background. I grew up and currently live in Cincinnati Ohio. I graduated from college with a major in Economics in 1993. I then entered the work force for a number of years in the business world. I felt like something was missing for me in my business career so I decided to go back to school so I could practice psychotherapy. I graduated from Xavier University with my Masters in Counseling in 2003. While I was in graduate school I worked as a case manager and a therapist for Queen City Mitchell Center (Now referred to as Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health). As soon as I graduated and got my supervision training I worked at St. Aloysius in their Multisystemic therapy program where I provided intensive, in home individual and family therapy to to families with at risk adolescents. I then began work as an individual therapist Univerisity of Cincinnati's Central psychiatric Clinic where I specialized in working with people suffering with Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Major Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Dis-associative Identity Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress, and others suffering with severe mental disabilities. After that I moved into private practice where I specialized in brief as well as longer term treatment with adolescents, individual adults, couples, and families. While in practice I completed the 2 year Advanced Psychotherapy Program at the Cincinnati Center for Psychoanalysis.
I don't want to overwhelm you with too much of my work history. In my personal life, I am a wife, mother of three boys (6 year old twins), a fur baby large Newfeydoodle, a sister, and daughter. I am happy now, however life has thrown a lot of curve balls my way. My approach as a therapist is very client and relationship focused. I feel exceptionally competent in helping individual adults work through the root causes of issues (past or present) that interfere in their lives and cause symptoms of depression, grief, Post Traumatic Stress, anxiety, grief, trauma and relationship struggles.
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to read about my life and my therapeutic approach! I'd like to learn about you now.
