Hi there, I'm Esther! My name is Esther Kang. I'm a licensed clinical social worker. I seek to create a safe, caring, and supportive environment to support you through your journey of healing. I think it's important to work collaboratively to reduce distress, and emotional pain related to issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship concerns. My approach I primarily use motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychotherapy modalities. I value person-centered and strength-based care My focus I work with adults, older adults, and teenagers going through a major life transition, identity challenges, depression, grief, low self-esteem, work stress, relationship problems, and anxiety. My communication style I do my best to offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space to honor each person's journey toward health and wholeness. My professional goal is to support people in making positive changes towards greater mental and emotional strength. My journey to mental healthcare I enjoy helping people understand themselves better and navigate challenging times. Life is difficult and sometimes all it takes is someone to be there to help along the way. My goals for you I work with people to identify their goals and values in life and to uncover barriers and stressors facing them. Then we can work together to develop coping strategies to overcome the obstacles. My first session with you During our initial sessions, we will delve into the issues that bring you into therapy and what are your personal goals. We will create a plan for addressing them. I know starting therapy takes a lot of courage but it will be well worth the investment into your personal growth and healing.
