I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of North Carolina, and I graduated from East Carolina University with both my graduate degree in Social Work and my undergraduate degree in Philosophy with a minor in Psychology. I am also a Certified Case Manager (CCM), with extensive experience as a medical and hospice social worker. My graduate concentration was in Geriatrics, and I work with adults coping with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, aging and feelings related to changes in health status. I take an eclectic approach to counseling, including solution-focused, strengths-based and cognitive-behavioral therapies, giving me the ability to tailor the treatment plan to your specific needs. I believe that change happens when people are encouraged to recognize their own strengths and natural supports in order to realize their potential to live happy, fulfilling lives. I enjoy working with people to create an informal and safe atmosphere, in which together we build the rapport and trust necessary for the expression of empathy and compassion.
