About

I have worked as a social worker for the past nine years and as a licensed masters level social worker for the past five years. In that time, I have worked with children and families with an emphasis on youth ages 6-20 years old who are struggling with some type of difficult life experience. I have helped folks struggling with family conflict, life adjustment, relationship issues, eating disorders, identity concerns, LGBTQ issues, self-esteem, addiction, issues with employment, housing, and legal involvement.  I have worked with people of different ages who struggle with symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma related disorders and unhealthy relationships including emotional and physical abuse. Life can be very challenging at times and it can be helpful to have someone to help us understand what we are feeling, and why we feel that way. 

I  believe that therapy starts with an open and honest therapeutic relationship. I offer non-judgmental support and appreciate people for their unique qualities. I believe in meeting people where they are at and helping to elicit their strengths as well as empowering individuals to see their own positive traits. I utilize an eclectic approach including techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I am also certified as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist and believe that the mind and body have a strong connection.
