Erica Fulton is a native Houstonian, born and raised in the heart of Houston. She was reared by her mother and maternal grandparents. Erica is the CEO of The Calm Corner whose mission is to help individuals navigate through the grief process, replenish women and encourage self-care. Erica has more than 14 years of experience working with youth and adolescents. Her experience includes youth ministry at her home church, Fresh Start Community Church. She is also a member of the Professional Women’s Group and the Houston LPC Association. In 2016, she graduated Magna Cu Laude with a Dual Degree from Houston Graduate School of Theology. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Master of Divinity. She is currently preparing for LPC/ LMFT licensure and working toward a Doctorate in Professional Counseling with an emphasis on trauma, grief, and loss at Houston Graduate School of Theology. Erica is now officially a doctoral candidate! She was ordained to the ministry in July 2017 and completed a chaplain residency in August of 2018 at Memorial Hermann Hospital. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Clinical Services Provider for ADHD, a Certified Dialectical Behavior and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a certified clinical anxiety treatment professional. In addition to being CEO of The Calm Corner, she serves as a lifestyle blogger for She Exist as well as a She Exist ambassador for the Spanish network. Finally, she has designed a curriculum in which she taught other preachers how to do exegetical breakdown. Erica is an active author and co-author of several books: EmPower, Blueprints from Heaven, The Lesson in Me, and Step Into Your Power Project where she talks about turning pain into purpose. Her most recent collaboration is Affirmations for Women on a Mission where she provides thought-provoking questions as it relates to trauma.
