I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I studied psychology at the University of Florida and earned my master of Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University. I am client-centered in my approach to therapy and believe empathy and understanding are critical to the therapeutic relationship. I have over 15 years of counseling in Florida, in which I hold my current license, LMHC. The clients I have worked with have between the ages of 5 and 85 from all races, ethnicities, cultures, backgrounds, political beliefs, and sexual orientations. The key to counseling and the client receiving real help, in my opinion, is having an open, empathetic, and trusting therapeutic relationship in which the client feels safe, heard, and understood. With the client being the expert on their life, the therapist and client together can bring clarity to thoughts, emotions, values, priorities, situations, and decisions. I integrate cognitive, behavioral, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, existential, and other counseling approaches tailored to the client's needs and personality. Helping clients overcome problems and function at their best is my goal and honor.
