Therapy can be hard, but I love to really connect with clients and understand their situation. Then I work on asking questions and identifying strengths that will help lead to insight and change. I love helping clients understand their thoughts and feelings and then make behavioral changes (CBT) to improve their situation. When appropriate and invited, I also love to help clients make connections between their situation and their faith, and how to grow in their relationship with God. I like it when clients take initiative with their own therapy and explore issues utilizing journaling, drawing, art, creative writing, etc. I have been working in various mental health settings since the late 80s. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado, with majors in Psychology and Philosophy. My Master of Social Work degree is from the University of Denver with an emphasis in Children, Youth and Family. I have worked with clients dealing with ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, Depression, issues related to divorce, as well as self-esteem, but limit clients to children and teens of both genders and adult men.
