About

Hi there, I'm Emmalee! My name is Emmalee Norris and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I enjoy helping individuals work through changes in life and learning new strategies to overcome struggles that occur in times of uncertainty. I appreciate genuine relationships and conversations with clients and do my best to mirror that. My approach I most commonly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Client-Centered Therapy. I allow clients to set the goals for therapy and determine what the priorities are for each session. I focus on bringing my true self to each meeting and create a space for clients to do the same. My focus My history of experience with clients include severe mental illness, legal concerns, substance use challenges, personality disorders, anxiety and mood disorders and more. I have worked with clients from ages eight to older adult and in a variety of different settings; including outpatient, schools, and correctional facilities. My communication style My goal is always to create a safe and open environment with the clients that I serve. I want the individuals that I work with to feel that they are able to share without the fear of judgement. Life is messing and everyone needs a comfortable place to process through struggles. I firmly believe that true change occurs when a person feels comfortable with their therapist and that is what I hope for each person seeking therapy. My journey to therapy I choose to be a therapist, because of the desire to help others create their best selves. My own life experiences have brought many times of change that were near impossible to navigate alone, therefore I strive to create a space that others can come to and feel safe to share the more challenging aspects of life. My goals for you I believe that goals should be set by each client and have the flexibility to change as life's priorities change.
