About

Hello!
My name is Emily. It takes courage and motivation to seek support and I am so glad you are here.
I am a Licensed Master of Social Work from Michigan ( LMSW) and I have been working in a counseling field since 2015. I have experience working in residential, outpatient, and private practice settings. During my career as a therapist, I have met with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting challenges, teen concerns, life transitions, trauma, grief/loss, abuse, self-esteem, LGBT issues, and crisis issues.

In my opinion, the client-therapist relationship is essential toward progress and I strive to create a relationship where my clients feel heard, valued, and important. I have an eclectic therapeutic approach but mostly draw from the person-centered approach when in a therapeutic relationship with my clients. This means that I make consistent efforts to meet each client "where they are" and to serve as a catalyst to each individual who is progressing through their unique process of self-discovery and self-identification. Other commonly utilized modalities I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I also utilize humanistic, holistic, experiential, narrative, and solution-focused therapy to address every patient's unique needs. I enjoy and feel honored to be a part of someone’s personal experiences, as our problems and feelings are unique and yet we are all each other's. This is the way I like to approach my sessions – as a team, addressing challenges together free from judgment, criticism, and pain; to change negative perceptions that do not serve us well; and to live a joyful and peaceful life.

As a full-time working, mother of 4, I am only able to offer live-chat and live-phone sessions at this time (in conjunction with the 24-hr messaging).

I am honored to be on your team and help you overcome the challenges you are facing. I look forward to talking with you.
