Emily Blow, a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor, is dedicated to fostering an affirming therapeutic environment where her clients feel genuinely acknowledged, listened to, and valued. The therapeutic bond between a therapist and client is especially powerful when a client can trust, relate to, and feel empowered by their therapist. As your counselor, Emily prioritizes establishing this robust bond, creating a pathway for her clients to heal from their past, develop skills, reach goals, and creating the life that they want. Employing a client-centric approach, Emily meets her clients where they are at, integrating strategies from attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She has provided individual, group, and couples therapy and has experience working with clients with various disorders including depression, anxiety, and PTSD. She believes that a client’s childhood and past trauma shapes and influences current relationship patterns and behavioral habits. She appreciates the profound interconnection between the mind and body, and emphasizes the creation of a personalized coping skills "toolbox". Emily holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of Saint Rose
