Hi there, I'm Emily Kitchen and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois. I earned my Master of Social Work degree at University of Illinois at Chicago and my undergraduate at Indiana University. I've mainly worked in the medical realm in the acute inpatient rehabilitation and hospital setting providing short term counseling to patients and families. I grew up in Indiana and worked in Washington, DC until moving back to the Midwest to pursue social work in Chicago.

I think everyone should have access to therapy and Find A Therapist assists with that by providing a trusted person to chat with anytime in the day. I believe everyone would benefit from therapy and that it should be destigmatized. My counseling style is strengths based approach and client centered along with the use of mindfulness techniques. You are the expert on your life and I'm here as a guide. I will start where you are and work towards the goals you want to achieve. Outside my work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter and new dog. I have recently begun obtaining certification as a Labor Doula. I also enjoy reading, baking and traveling to new places.
