Welcome! My name is Emily Kalinowski and I am passionate about helping people reach their goals and thrive through both challenging experiences and everyday moments. I believe each one of us has a unique story and perspective and my goal as a counselor is to meet you where you are at, help you identify your own individual goals, and support you in living the life you want to live. I strive to create a safe and comfortable space for you to process, heal and grow. Here is a little about my education and experience:

I completed my undergraduate and graduate work in social work with an emphasis in children and family services and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois. I have advanced training in trauma treatment and am certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Additionally, I have training in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, art in therapy and mindfulness practices. My experiences range from working with individuals to overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD to working with parents and families to address discipline and behavior concerns, family relationships, symptoms of ADHD and ODD, adoption/foster care issues and more.

When working with you for counseling, I want to help you identify and use your strengths to accomplish your goals. I am here to support you, facilitate your self-exploration and help you grow into the life you desire. Your time is precious, so I want to use your sessions in a way that will most effectively meet your needs and address the concerns you have. As your counselor, I am ready to listen and support you while helping you to effectively accomplish your goals.
