About
"***Please Note: Emily Good is a provider within Headway’s provider network. After booking your appointment you will receive an email from Headway with instructions to setup your Headway patient account. You will need to complete this setup in order to confirm your appointment.*** What should your client know about you? I'm a licensed mental health counselor with experience providing care in both clinic and primary care medical settings since 2015. My clients have presented a wide range of concerns including: depression, anxiety, grief, anger management, substance abuse, poverty, and life after incarceration. Before graduate school I was a community organizer addressing issues of social, ecological, and economic concern; my undergraduate degrees are in Community Health and Peace and Justice Studies. What is your approach to therapy? My approach pulls from narrative & feminist therapies as well as ACT. I often use a systems perspective to explore problems, and I have experience working with trauma related to systemic harm and oppression. I also have specialized training in the gold-standard treatment for OCD, ERP. An area of special interest to me is distress related to ecology & climate chaos. I wrote my Master's thesis on the mental health impacts of climate change, and I continue to follow current research on the subject. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? I'm honored to walk with people who invite me into their lives, and I strive to offer honesty and compassion in a safe & respectful way. I enjoy working with clients to identify and establish boundaries, develop assertive communication skills, and learn to live more authentically."
