About
I am a Licensed Social Worker and a psychotherapist. I earned my Master’s Degree at Monmouth University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Metropolitan College of New York. I am a Doctoral Candidate at Monmouth University, Doctor of Social Work in Human Rights Leadership program. It is essential for me to have the ability to provide every individual with a unique therapeutic experience, which is why I am constantly engaging in continuing education and training. I practice from an eclectic approach with the awareness that every individual, couple, and family’s needs are exclusive. Some frameworks I draw from are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Narrative Therapy, Collaborative therapy, conflict resolution therapy, and Emotion-Focused (EFT). I enjoy engaging in mindfulness and creating a Zen mood. My experience is diverse as I have worked with all ages in multiple settings. I have used creative and distinctive techniques to assist individuals, couples, and families in finding healing and understanding in challenging situations. I was captivated by the role of the psychotherapist at a very young age. My passion continued to grow as the years passed, and I was confident that this was what I was supposed to do. I am of Hispanic descent and come from a culture where therapy is stigmatized. I aim to break those barriers and make therapy welcoming. Life is too short to be caught in a cycle of bad relationships, holding grudges, letting trauma control us, or being anxious/angry all the time. I am dedicated to guiding you to be free of emotional pain and to find meaning/purpose in all aspects of your life. I chose to become a psychotherapist because I believe every individual, couple, and family holds an essential role in this world, and seeing individuals become their best selves is a bonus.
