My hope is to be a calming and supportive presence as we work through your discomfort and develop strategies to help you function more effectively. Our work together will be collaborative and purposeful, built on a foundation of authenticity and hope. In addition to my extensive clinical experience in private, community, and higher education settings, I am also a professor of psychology. As such, I tend to use a psychoeducational approach to further enhance our therapeutic alliance.

I have experience treating clients with all types of presenting issues, including anxiety, depression, gender/sexuality issues, relationship issues, and stage-of-life concerns. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques to assist you in coping with and/or resolving issues stemming from cognitive, emotional, biological, social or environmental factors.
You may be hesitant to start or return to therapy, which is completely normal! Many of my clients find me easy to connect with and very patient. The client/therapist relationship is so important, so let’s get started to see if I am the right fit for you. :)
