Emily has years of experience working with individuals struggling with emotional regulation and relationship issues. Emily received her undergraduate degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. She then went on to get her Master's in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Art Therapy from Adler University, and her School Counseling Endorsement from DePaul University. She has experience working in psychiatric treatment facilities, private practice settings and as a bereavement and hospice care therapist. Emily takes a multicultural approach to counseling and believes in the importance and value of each unique layer that make an individual who they are. In addition to a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Emily is also a trained Art Therapist and School Counselor.
Emily works to support individuals dealing with emotional regulation such as anxiety or panic disorder, mood disorder, and anger management. She can also help clients improve on relationship struggles, LGBTQ+ related challenges, and family dynamic concerns. Emily also has experience supporting clients work through life changes such as becoming new parents, and/or Post-Partum Depression, grief and loss, divorce, and challenges from the lifestyle changes due to Covid-19.
Making positive change, gaining insight, and increasing overall well-being are the general goals of treatment with Emily, however, individualized goals will be created with each client to help them reach their highest level of potential and social-emotional health.
