About
Hi there, I'm Elsa! Hello, Welcome, and thank you for reaching out to my practice. My name is Elsa Quintanilla and I am a dedicated, bilingual professional (Spanish) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I've been practicing psychotherapy for 16 years. My approach I have extensive use of depth psychology, applying Cognitive-Behavior, Gestalt-Family Systems, Solution-Focused, and Expressive Arts (Humanistic) psychotherapy for adults, children, and adolescents. I have a working knowledge of music therapy, guided imagery, and dream work. I consider myself an empathic practitioner whose personal experience, growth, and cultural sensitivity ensure an effective, caring environment. My focus I have worked with severely mentally ill and dual-diagnosed patients. I have worked with patients presenting with suicidal ideation, depression, ODD, anger; lack of social skills, life skills, and/or parenting skills. Postpartum Depression, low self-esteem, PTSD; Domestic Violence issues, marital problems, family dysfunction, grief/loss, and acculturation issues. My communication style No matter which therapeutic approach I apply (Cognitive-Behavioral, Gestalt-Family Systems, Solution-Focused, and Expressive Arts [Humanistic]), I always make room for the spirituality of my patients to inform the healing process in therapy. My journey to therapy The seed of my vocation was initiated early in my childhood. The wounds from childhood and early adulthood lead to a journey of self-exploration and a deep curiosity and desire to make sense of my experiences. This led to my educational journey in the field of psychology, the study of the soul. My first session with you The seed of my vocation was initiated early in my childhood.
