Hello! My name is Ellen and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in TX for over 30 years and a Substance Abuse Counselor for over 20 years. I have also been licensed in NM, UT, and WA. I love helping people sort out the issues that trouble them and learn how to feel better about themselves and their lives. I have worked with just about every issue there is, but have most often had clients who were stressed, depressed, anxious, perhaps dealing with addiction issues. and trauma of all kinds. I use standard treatment modalities such as CBT and DBT but also EFT and EMDR with clients who are interested in incorporating Energy Psychology and Mindfulness into their lives. I find these techniques provide much relief for many people. Since many of my clients had mentally ill parents or others in their families, we often work on self esteem and finding out what is true and what is not true about themselves. Family dynamics are often very stressful in those families so I teach alternate ways of relating to people who distress them. Relief usually comes quickly.
