Elizabeth is an outpatient therapist at Makin Wellness and is currently fulfilling her master’s degree in clinical mental health from Duquesne University. In 2014, Elizabeth earned a BA in Psychology at West Virginia University. After graduating, Elizabeth worked closely with children as a teaching assistant at a Montessori preschool. She lived in New York City for several years working as an elementary English tutor for Harlem Children’s Zone. Elizabeth is passionate about serving others, and has experience working with children and adolescents, clients of diverse multicultural backgrounds and for communities within the fields of mental health, addiction rehabilitation, childhood development & education and social advocacy. Elizabeth is constantly inspired by mental health psychology, and the ways in which learning its applications enhances our quality of living and aid to our well-being. She is someone always looking to expand her knowledge and understanding of psychology of mind, while also remaining focused on using practical techniques to work most effectively with clients. Areas of special interest include: mind/body connection, somatic experiencing, spirituality, mindfulness, holistic psychology, humanistic psychology, CBT, solution-focused therapy, dreaming, and the practice of self-acceptance. It is Elizabeth’s goal to create a safe, compassionate, encouraging environment for clients to explore their emotions, thoughts and experiences; all in effort to increase self-awareness and self-love for enhanced wellbeing. Together, clients work with Elizabeth as a team to create a constructive treatment plan for any needs. Elizabeth works with individuals that struggle with chronic illness, trauma, addiction, stress, depression, anxiety, codependency, eating disorders, and self-esteem. All are welcomed to reach out, and together, we will venture down the path of health, healing & wellness.
