About

Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 20+ years of experience in the field of mental health. I work with clients experiencing various issues, such as anxiety, relationship concerns, and self-esteem issues. However, I specialize in trauma and attachment, including trauma related to experiences of social injustices and generational trauma. My approach Considering each individual's culture is an essential part of working with my clients. Therefore, I integrate concepts of intersectionality into my work with clients. I work from an eclectic approach since every client is unique. I integrate various theoretical approaches, including Trauma-Informed Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other trauma-focused interventions. My focus I have worked with children and adolescents, but at this time, my work is mainly with adult clients. I work with clients from various backgrounds, including those who are multicultural, immigrants, and those who have experienced social injustices. I am a child of immigrant parents, and so understand the challenges of some cultural groups, such as first-generation Americans and immigrants. My communication style I am a transparent therapist, in that, I address client’s concerns and challenges with sensitivity and honesty. I consider the therapeutic relationship the most important aspect of treatment. I strive to create a safe and collaborative relationship with clients, where I bring my expertise in therapy and consider the client to be the expert in themselves. My journey to mental healthcare I originally worked in the media and entertainment industry. After a few years, I realized that was not my calling. I was seeking a profession where I could contribute positively to the lives of others. Growing up in an immigrant family, I was always interested in social justice and equality. Eventually, those interests led me to psychology and continue to drive me in my work as a psychotherapist.
