About
Liz specializes in working with adults, millennials, students, and adolescents contending with grief and loss, anxiety, depression, life transitions, school and job stress, and burnout. She uses solution-focused therapy to increase her clients' resiliency and their ability to cope with life's challenges. Liz helps her clients find meaning and purpose in their daily lives and supports them in identifying and meeting personal goals. Liz holistically assesses each client's lifestyle and prior experiences to help them identify unhelpful patterns of behavior and thinking that are getting in the way of their objectives. She uses elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and expressive therapy techniques to assist clients in making positive changes. Her strength-based approach has been described as warm, non-judgmental, and supportive. As an individual who formerly worked on Capitol Hill, now trained in clinical social work, Liz has a unique perspective as a therapist to understand the stress and realities facing individuals and families in the Washington, DC area.
