Welcome! And thank you for reaching out, I know how difficult it can be to open up to a stranger so let me introduce myself and some of my experience to see if I will be a good fit for you. My name is Liz and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State and have been providing therapy since 2013 after graduating from the University at Buffalo School of Social Work. I currently am employed full time as a crisis therapist with a hospital system working in the community, and am taking the first step into private practice! I am flexible, down to earth, approachable, and I believe in collaborative approach with my clients. I utilize a warm but firm approach with my clients. I have experience with depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, relationship issues, safety planning, and have worked for 3 years in an outpatient clinic setting treating adult clients with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses. I enjoy working with older adolescents and adults.

I utilize a strength-based, trauma-informed, humanistic approach, as well as implementing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing strategies in addressing the diagnoses listed above. I am also skilled in crisis work and safety assessments. I employ a compassionate, genuine, non-judgmental approach to therapy with my clients. I meet people where they are at and like to work with clients to meet their full potential through the above listed modalities. It is very important to me to assist you in identifying realistic goals to attain in order to become an improved version of yourself! Please note that the first couple of weeks are for us to get to know each other and assessments are ongoing.

When I am not working, I am exercising, engaging in self-care, cooking/baking and spending time with my family. Again, I thank you for your consideration of having me assist you in becoming your best self. I look forward to working with you!
