About
As a strengths-based, patient-centered, and trauma-informed therapist, I will work with you to identify and achieve your individual goals for emotional growth and healing. My areas of specialty include substance abuse, self-harm, codependency, disordered eating, and other maladaptive coping mechanisms. Oftentimes what brings us to therapy are the harmful coping mechanisms that served a very important purpose and even helped us to survive intolerable circumstances. Unfortunately, these coping mechanisms eventually get in the way of healthy relationships, our ability to regulate emotions, and our day-to-day functioning. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-focused approaches to address harmful behaviors and introduce healthy, functional coping skills to achieve a life worth living. I will always support your self-determination and aim to help you to develop tools that will serve you for the rest of your life.
