Hello, My name is Elizabel Arroyo Ayuso and I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. I'm Native from Puerto Rico and I'm a very emphatic, creative, resourceful, honest, humorous, tolerant and dedicated professional with the purpose to enhance and support your mental health. I speak Spanish, English, and Spanglish if I need to.

My experience starting in the counseling field dates back 2010-2011 at a psychiatric hospital where I was able to provide group and individual therapy to later in 2012 I worked with children and adolescents in a residential setting offering case management and individual therapy services. I enjoy working with tweens, adolescents, and adults. Currently, I continue working with kids and teens in a school-based setting. My counseling style is warm, humorous, directive and interactive. I enjoy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Rational Behavior Therapy, ARC (attachment-regulation-competency) framework, Adapted Playtime, Cognitive Coaching, Art & Music activities as part of therapy interventions. My sessions will be directed to help you get better outcomes. I define myself as having a multiple theory approach so each season can be there own. I also need to include having experience working with immigrants, substance abuse, high school dropouts, risk youth in outpatient settings, school-based programs, running groups using structured psychotherapy for adolescents responding to chronic stress (SPARCS) and last but no least connecting families to service programs to enhance their well-being in Puerto Rico and Illinois.
