I'm Elise Froistad, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Want better relationships and a better life. Therapy can help. Therapy can and should be something you look forward to. Change can be hard, but it can also be enjoyable. That's my hope for you...an enjoyable experience while working to make the changes in your life that will lead to better relationships and a better life. I have the life and work experience to help you move forward. I've seen and heard a lot in my 25 -plus years in the field. I've become known as an expert at the community, county and state level, as well as for my work internationally. I will use my expertise to work with you. I was recognized in 2008 by the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who appointed me to serve on The Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). I served California consumers through the regulation of four different mental health licenses. It was an honor to serve the Governor, Californians and his profession in this important role as vice chair, as well as the chair of the exam redesign committee. I have also served on several committees through Orange County Children and Family Services in order to improve the care and services provided to those in need. I work with lay people around the world educating them about trauma and it's impact, and teaching skills to help those who have experienced traumatic events so they can move forward in their lives. My hope is to use my education, experiences and opportunities to not only help you, but those around the world. I enjoy my work and the opportunity to help people experience more of life and their relationships. I look forward to working with you. I've lived in California my entire adulthood and am connected to my community. I grew up in Colorado and am still connected there.
