About
My name is Elisa Padilla and I'm an LCSW. I understand the vulnerability required to ask for support and for this reason, I approach therapy with a deep sense of kindness, openness, compassion, humility, and respect. I create a space to address the heaviness that being human can entail because I also see the light and freedom that can be cultivated when we are brave enough to address our emotional wounds. My approach I utilize an integrated approach that draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing and Strength-Based Therapy. My interventions are tailored to your specific needs and therapeutic goals, as such, they will reflect your journey towards experiencing greater emotional depth and self-awareness. My focus I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, self-worth/self-esteem issues, life transitions/adjustments (e.g., role change, relocation), grief/loss (e.g., divorce, death of loved one) and care giver burn out. My communication style My communication style is unpretentious, kind but direct, with the goal of attuning to your needs to establish conversational reciprocity with you. I practice deep listening to engage you fully in the therapeutic process. I aim to make it easy to talk about hard things. My journey to mental healthcare My experience in working in a community based mental health clinic led me to becoming an LCSW. I was inspired to pursue this path after bearing witness to the resilience, growth and healing those individuals experienced when provided proper support. As a therapist myself, I aim to empower my clients as they navigate their own adversity and challenges. My goals for you I take a collaborative approach to goal setting with you. Your participation in goal development is highly valued. Goals should reflect the personal growth you seek to cultivate in a therapeutic setting.
