About
I have been providing pastoral and clinical counseling in Decatur since 2015. Before practicing full time, I served as executive director at Northeast Community Fund and God’s Shelter of Love, both in Decatur, IL. I am a father of two grown children and recently celebrated thirty years of marriage. I hold two Master’s degrees in counseling from Illinois State University and Lincoln Christian Seminary. I am an ordained minister and a U.S. Army veteran with training at the U.S. Army Chaplain Center and School in counseling for combat stress casualties, PTSD and traumatic event management. I have several years experience providing couples counseling, pre-marital counseling, family counseling and individual counseling for adults, teens and children struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar and other common mental health disorders. I utilize a number of therapies that includes CBT, DBT, ACT, Choice Theory and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
