About

My name is Edica Gonzalez, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach is client-centered; together, we determine the best intervention to support this journey. I treat a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, anger, self-esteem, and familial/relationship issues. I utilize an integrative approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness practices. I currently work with active duty military personnel, adults, and adolescents 16+. I am comfortable with treating clients with PTSD, complex trauma, relational issues, depression, anxiety, phobias, domestic violence/sexual assault survivors, anger, and self-esteem issues. My approach is to create a safe space with the client and have a healthy rapport. I ask questions to get to know the client's perspective and cultural background. It is important that my client feel comfortable to maximize their therapeutic experience. My journey began in 2015 when I was working with sexual assault survivors. Becoming an advocate created a passion for helping and supporting people after experiencing trauma. I wanted people to find hope in life again and empower them to have their lives back. The journey led me into working with domestic violence survivors and perpetrators. It was important to offer intervention to everyone who wanted to seek change and improve their lives. I then joined an organization that offered services to military members and grew a passion for those suffering from combat PTSD. My career path has only increased my desire to help all people from all walks of life. Goal setting is a collaborative approach to meet the needs of each client. We will use the SMART model to achieve specific, measurable, action-oriented, realistic, and time-bound goals.
