About
Hi there, I'm Ebony! Many individuals do not come to therapy because they think it will make them look “crazy” or like they have “issues”. I want to work with you to change that mindset! Truth is, we have all gone through something, but it’s much more comforting when we do not have to go through it alone. Whether it’s anxiety, stress, depression, grief, or relationship issues, there is always a way for us to overcome. Together, we can work on leading you to the path of healing, growth, and resiliency. Utilizing a mix of humanistic and cognitive-behavioral approaches, we will work together as you walk through your journey. My approach to therapy includes a mix of humanistic and cognitive-behavioral approaches. I believe that one hat does not fit all so I take a multi-level approach to these when working together. My approach to therapy includes a mix of humanistic and cognitive-behavioral approaches. I believe that one hat does not fit all so I take a multi-level approach to these things. My client's focus is on how to strengthen the individual while encouraging them to work on the issues presented. I strive to uplift my clients and provide them with tools that can help them long term. I believe in meeting people where they are, I create an environment of comfort and non-judgment. I utilize active listening, empathetic listening, open-ended questioning, and validation so the client knows they are being heard and respected regardless of what is going on in your life. My therapy journey started when my brother died by suicide. I became curious as to how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connected, so I worked in various areas that offered me the opportunity to train with individuals with co-morbid diagnoses. I graduated from Cal-State Los Angeles with a bachelor's in psychology. Throughout my education, I volunteered time with different foundations dedicated to raising awareness of suicide and suicide prevention as well as mental health.
