About
Hello, and thank you for visiting my page. My name is Dr. Trevor A. Daniels, and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist whose work is heavily informed by 27 years of experience working with populations with the least access to adequate systems of care. I began as a volunteer rape crisis advocate and crisis hotline counselor in 1995 while completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Miami University of Ohio. I began my professional career working in substance abuse/recovery before relocating to Los Angeles, California to pursue graduate studies in Clinical Psychology. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University, and a Master’s and Doctor of Psychology Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in multicultural community clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. For the past 23 years, I have served in many roles including providing counseling and outreach services for at-risk and homeless youth involved in commercial sex work, treating the chronically and persistently mentally ill, co-directing an L.A. County funded community assessment services center, serving 8 years on an L.A. County HIV community planning board, and 15 years of graduate-level teaching in Clinical Psychology, just to name a few. Currently, I am in private practice where I continue to work towards ensuring that the most vulnerable have unfettered access to mental health services that are relevant and culturally informed.
At the foundation of all the work that I have done and continue to do are three core beliefs. The first is that we all have potential. Second, who we are matters. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, is the unwavering belief that even in the face of the most unbelievable odds we have some agency over our fate in the world. My approach to working with clients is guided by a commitment to helping you increase your mental health literacy; being down to earth, open, and straightforward; being just as committed as you are to improving your mental health while assisting you in finding solutions that have utility and are realistic for who you are and where you are. Our work together is a true partnership!
