At Tenacity Mindset, we work to empower people to address their issues and overcome those obstacles. We believe in teamwork and collaboration. We become part of your team that works with you to achieve your goals. At Tenacity Mindset, we don’t believe in focusing on labels and diagnosis. We believe that people sometimes struggle with different behaviors, emotions and thoughts. Our job is to help you address, modify, explore, change or just understand those behaviors, emotions and thoughts so that you can maximize your potential and be the best you that you can be! Dr. Tremaine Sayles is the founder and CEO of Tenacity Mindset. Dr. Sayles has a unique educational and experiential background. He started his undergraduate studies at Duke University with a major in Psychology. From there, he completed his master’s degree in clinical social work at Columbia University and his doctorate in psychology from St. John’s University. In 2017, he was presented the award for Outstanding Young Alumni of St. John’s University. In his over 20 years of practice, Dr. Sayles has worked in almost every mental health setting there is. Most recently, he worked with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) as a Director, manager and advisor to department leadership on behavioral health and substance abuse matters. His prior positions have included Director of Counseling for the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), Director of Psychological Health for the US Army Reserve and he served as a staff officer at the Pentagon. Dr. Sayles is an Army veteran having served both on active and reserve duty for a total of 26 years. He has worked in substance abuse clinics and long-term psychiatric facilities.
