Shirley is a PhD, licensed marriage, and family therapist with over 20 years of experience. For the past five years using clinically tested and evidenced-based interventions, she has been conducting online therapy with individuals, families and couples presenting with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, transgender challenges, relationship, and parenting issues, as well as personal growth, grief/loss, and trauma. She believes everyone should have a safe and healing place to work through life’s difficulties. Shirley tends to draw from the person-centered approach. This means that she makes consistent efforts to meet each client where they are and to serve as a catalyst as they progress through their own unique process of healing and self discovery. Shirley works from a systemic, collaborative, strength-based approach that is mindful of cultural, ethnic, and economic concerns. In Shirley’s work she uses leading psychological modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Relationship, Solution-Focused, Existential and Mindfulness approaches.
