About

My name is Dr. Ryan Adamczyk, I am an outpatient psychotherapist with an interest in family dynamics. I practice mental health counseling in Charlotte North Carolina and have over 10 years of experience. This experience consists of serving individuals, couples, families, and groups. I have experience collaborating with individuals who deal with feelings such as depression, anxiety, and anger.

I earned my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago Illinois in 2010. In 2018, I earned my Ph.D. in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara California. My dissertation study explores the experience of physical disability, and it uses the ideas of Depth psychology as the specific research lens. The purpose of my study demonstrates how a depth psychological approach can help an individual with a physical disability find meaning in the experience. I approach treatment from a depth psychological therapeutic orientation.

People today are looking for meaning in their lives. A balance between the client's psychological and spiritual natures must be sought through the work of the therapeutic encounter to achieve wholeness. It is my personal therapeutic philosophy that the issues that the client may be facing can be a motivating force to help him or her achieve and maintain this psycho-spiritual union. Only by attending to and becoming aware of the unconscious root of the emotional distress; can a problematic behavior be changed. I have a genuine concern for the quality of human life and the happiness of others. Additionally, it is my belief that building a whole person involves both spiritual and clinical dimensions of life and only when both are addressed will we achieve wholeness.
